Today is the feast of the founder of our monasticism and the one who’s our church named after, he’s definitely saint Francis the monk who used to gather all the people around him, and on this occasion we celebrated his feast with ten friars who came from Italy to participate in this feast and to express their solidarity with the Syrian people.
We started the celebration in meditation of Saint Francis life and his holy wounds, included Franciscan chants by the Italian friars, then father Ibrahim together with the guests celebrated the holy mass and prayed for the recovery of our nation, and in the end father Ibrahim thanked them on the behalf the Syrian society, for the prayers and for the wood and stone cross which is made from rocks from the Alverna holy mountain in Italy.
